Dodgy Rides at the County Fair

So I was getting ready to ride one of the little rides at the Orange County Fair, when I noticed that one of the operators - a rather unwashed Hispanic fellow - was trying to look at something under the central control booth... using a cigarette lighter.

Not exactly confidence-inspiring, eh? But did the intrepid rider get off? No. I rode that sucker.
